Who We Are
Jennisue and her husband KJ, founded Compass 31 in 2011 in response to the unfolding of redemption in their own lives. Compass 31 provides a holistic model of restoration to those escaping from commercial sexual exploitation.

In cooperation with Compassion International, e3 Partners and International Justice Mission, Jennisue and KJ co-created Priceless Cube in 2012. Since that time, national leaders from more than 40 different countries have been equipped to effectively combat human trafficking in their regions through education. To date, tens of thousands of people globally have heard this high-impact prevention message.

Why the Name Compass 31?
“Watch now, as I bring them from the land to the north, as I gather My people from the ends of the earth. Look who is among those returning home: the blind and the lame, expectant mothers and even those giving birth—All of these together in the multitude on its way home.…
In that day I will lead them beside quiet streams of water and take them upon a straight path where they will not stumble. Why?
Because I am their father” – Jeremiah 31:8-9
When we came across Jeremiah 31 we knew that we had not only found our name but our purpose as well. This passage confirmed that this project was His idea and setting captives free was His work. He is the Father to the fatherless and the Redeemer of the captive. He directs the broken and wounded into our care and our primary job is to direct them into restorative relationship with him.

Webster’s dictionary gives the following 2 definitions for “compass”:

n. An instrument for determining directions upon the earth’s surface by means of a magnetized bar or needle turning freely upon a pivot and pointing in a northerly and southerly direction.

v. To stretch round; to extend so as to embrace the whole; hence, to enclose, encircle, grasp or seize; as, to compass within the arms.

It is our desire to embrace those in our care and guide them on a path that will lead to their own personal discovery of the Creator who loves them and the purpose He created them for. Thus, the name for the new ministry Compass 31 was born.
KJ & jennisue jessen
As an American survivor of human trafficking, Jennisue Jessen, knows the depths of trauma a body can endure but she also knows the great lengths Jesus will go to redeem those held in captivity.

She was sold into the sex trade at age four but God provided for her rescue and escape at age 17.

In 2011, Jennisue and her husband KJ, founded Compass 31, an international NGO that fights human trafficking through prevention, restoration and leadership development.

Now she puts the love of Christ into practice by empowering other survivors to be catalysts for change and training national leaders to prevent human trafficking through education.

Statement of Faith
The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried.

On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy universal and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
